RECREATIONAL
Incorporating the recommendations and philosophies of the Canadian Sport 4 Life and Long Term Athlete Development programs, and incorporating a multitude of Physical Literacy skills, Evolution has developed a very comprehensive curriculum for all its athletes. Our unique achievement tracking system allows coaches, students and parents to easily record & monitor an athlete’s progress. All classes are taught by nationally-trained and certified coaches who love to share their passion for gymnastics and healthy development.
Parent and Tot – walking to 3 yrs
Our youngest athletes can start exploring movement as soon as they are walking. One parent or adult caregiver attends the 45 minute class with the child to assist with the various activities. Athletes gain experience on our Just For Kids equipment, the Tumbl Trak or trampoline, balance beams and floor circuit (similar to an obstacle course), doing a variety of activities, tasks, and skill progressions. This class is offered several weekday mornings and evenings, and on the weekend.
Parent and Preschool – 3 & 4 Yrs
While still with a parent or caregiver, athletes attend this one-hour long class, and start working on our “Active Start” program. The program features development in several areas: physical literacy, social skills, and basic gymnastics skills.
Child 4-5 Yrs
Incorporating physical literacy development activities, as well as sound gymnastics skill development, these one hour classes deliver our “FUNdamentals” program. Athletes will spend time on our Just For Kids equipment, the Tumbl Trak or trampoline, balance beams and floor circuit (similar to an obstacle course), doing a variety of activities, tasks, and skill progressions. Those athletes that show above average ability & interest may be invited to advanced classes and/or pre-competitive programs.
GymKids – 6-8 Yrs
As the young athletes develop they will spend more time on the full size equipment such as bars and beam while also getting fun time on the Tumbl Track and the trampoline. Kids who excel at this level may be invited for advanced or pre-competitive testing. These are our most popular classes and fill up very quickly each session.
Youth – 8 to 11 Yrs
Continuing on the FUNdamentals gymnastics journey, these 90-minute classes focus on having fun while being physically active. Athletes in these classes utilize the (full-scale) regular bars, rings, etc, as well as Tumbl Trak, trampoline, floor area, balance beams and our HOIST resistance training machines, specifically designed for youth.
Teen – 12 Yrs & Up
Whether it’s to give gymnastics a try, have some fun social activity while keeping fit, or to re-visit or continue to develop gymnastics skills, these 90-minute sessions offer more choice and variety to participants. The classes are offered Tuesday and Thursday evenings, and several participants opt to come to both.
TUMBLING – 8 YRS & UP, ADVANCED ABILITY
Ideal for those only interested in floor work, as well as dancers & cheerleaders, our one hour tumbling classes are designed to help participants acquire and refine their flight skills: round-offs, handsprings, aerials & saltos. Taught by our more experienced Level 2 coaches, the athletes utilize our impact-reducing spring-loaded floor, specially designed training aids & safety mats, Tumbl Trak and/or trampolines to work on these dynamic skills.
Private Lessons
For those looking to work on specific skills or areas, coaches will work with athletes one on one or two on one with individually personalized plans to see the most improvement. Perfect for those Acro and Dancer children looking to truly hone those higher level skills. Lessons are arranged through the front office in order to find a time and coach that can fit your schedule. Lessons are $60-$70 per hour, split between both athletes if it’s a Semi-Private lesson.
